I’m an emergency physician with a passion for point-of-care ultrasound education, spending one day per week working regionally and mentoring doctors at Wonthaggi Hospital.

Since 2022 a team of us have been developing the PEARLS (POCUS for Emergency & Acute care in Resource-Limited Settings) project in the South Pacific, educating clinicians using handheld probes connected to their phones. I’m excited to bring back some lessons we’ve learned to Victoria, and share how PEARLS is Redefining the Rules for rural and remote ultrasound education.
